Recordando 1981: Ano Internacional das Pessoas Deficientes

 

Em 16 de dezembro de 1976 a Assembleia Geral das Nações Unidas com a Resolução 31/123, proclamou, oficialmente, o ano de 1981 como Ano Internacional das Pessoas Deficientes com o objetivo de chamar a atenção para criação de Leis e Movimentos na tentativa de dar ênfase a igualdade de oportunidades para pessoas com necessidades especiais.

Integrando as comemorações do Ano Internacional das Pessoas Deficientes realizou-se em Recife, de 26 a 30 de outubro de 1981, o 1º Congresso Brasileiro de Pessoas Deficientes e o 2º Encontro Nacional de Entidades de Pessoas Deficientes. O Fisioterapeuta Geraldo Barbosa na época Presidente do Conselho Regional de Fisioterapia e Terapia Ocupacional da 1ª Região - CREFITO 1 aparece na foto ladeado pelo Deputado Federal Tales Ramalho e pela Chefe da Casa Civil do Governo de Pernambuco Margarida Cantarelli, no momento em que o Parlamentar proferia conferência.

World Physiotherapy pays tribute to Sandra Mercer-Moore Last week World Physiotherapy learned of the death of Sandra Mercer-Moore, a world leader in physiotherapy who helped lay the foundations for the growth in our membership and our regions. Sandra was president of the World Confederation for Physical Therapy (now known as World Physiotherapy) from 1999-2007. Under her presidency, the organisation launched its first website in 2001 and membership reached 100 member organisations. She was a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association for 57 years and the association’s national president from 1991-1992. She was awarded Member of the Order of Australia for services to physiotherapy. The presidents of the five organisations that make up the WHPA, representing 34 million health professionals globally, marked the start of the Year of the Health and Care Workers with a call for concrete action to help safeguard underfunded, COVID-affected health systems. The WHPA call was issued as a video message from the five presidents when the 148th WHO executive board met on 18 January 2021. PEDro adds three new languages to website The PEDro website is now available in Polish, Romanian, and Ukrainian. Founded in 1921, it opened its new national headquarters to mark the occasion on Friday 15 January 2021. The APTA was one of the 11 national physiotherapy associations to found the World Confederation for Physical Therapy, now known as World Physiotherapy. Bursary programme launched World Physiotherapy launches bursary programme to support up to 100 physiotherapists attend congress. If you are a physiotherapist from a World Physiotherapy member organisation in a low or lower middle income country/territory, you may qualify for a bursary place. Censo anual revela o estado global da profissão de Fisioterapeuta

As respostas ao último censo anual de membros da Fisioterapia Mundial revelam que a pandemia COVID-19 teve um impacto significativo nos serviços de Fisioterapia em todo o mundo.

 A World Physiotherapy publica dados de suas organizações membros todos os anos sobre uma série de questões, incluindo regulamentação profissional, prática, educação e o número de Fisioterapeutas empregados. Esses dados fornecem um perfil global abrangente e valioso da profissão.

 Em 2020, o censo anual de membros também incluiu perguntas sobre como a pandemia COVID-19 impactou a prática de Fisioterapia e a governança das organizações membros da Fisioterapia Mundial. 

A data do censo anual de membros foi 30 de junho de 2020. 

Os dados mais recentes são baseados no censo concluído por 111 das 122 organizações membros da World Physiotherapy em meados de 2020. A alta taxa de resposta, 91%, demonstra um forte envolvimento entre a World Physiotherapy e suas organizações membros e a confiabilidade dos dados. Os dados fornecem um panorama global da profissão de Fisioterapia em todo o mundo, mostrando variações na densidade de Fisioterapeutas em diferentes países e entre as regiões.

Os destaques do censo de 2020 incluem:

 • 57% dos entrevistados disseram que o número de membros de sua organização aumentou

 • 86% dos entrevistados disseram que COVID-19 teve impacto na prática de Fisioterapia em seu país / território, a maioria deles relatou interrupção entre março e junho de 2020

 • 63% dos entrevistados disseram que Fisioterapeutas em seu país / território relataram dificuldades no acesso a equipamentos de proteção individual durante março e junho de 2020 

• 27% dos entrevistados disseram que havia acesso direto total em seu país / território e as pessoas podiam se referir a um Fisioterapeuta sem referência, para os sistemas de saúde pública e para a prática privada 

• globalmente, 63% dos Fisioterapeutas são mulheres - mas apenas 14% dos países / territórios têm menos mulheres do que homens exercendo atividade como Fisioterapeutas 

• em 75% dos países / territórios, os Fisioterapeutas atendem por telessaúde.

Três novas organizações membros da World Physiotherapy

A World Physiotherapy publica todos os anos dados de suas organizações membros sobre uma série de questões, incluindo regulamentação profissional, prática, educação e o número de Fisioterapeutas empregados. 

Esses dados fornecem um perfil global abrangente e valioso da profissão. Três associações nacionais de fisioterapia tornaram-se novas organizações membros da World Physiotherapy. As novas organizações membros são: • Associação Dominicana de Fisioterapeutas (Asociación Dominicana de Terapeutas Físicos) • Sindicato Geral Palestino de Fisioterapia • Associação de Fisioterapia do Vietnã (Hội Vật lý trị liệu Việt Nam).

A associação à  World Physiotherapy para as três novas organizações membros entrou em vigor em 1º de janeiro de 2021. O número total de organizações membros da Fisioterapia Mundial é agora de 125, representando mais de 660.000 Fisioterapeutas em todo o mundo.

 Na assembleia geral realizada em Genebra em maio de 2019, as organizações membros aprovaram uma nova constituição, que permite votação eletrônica fora de uma assembleia geral sobre as deliberações relacionadas com a aprovação do pedido de adesão de uma organização.

 No momento da votação, a World Physiotherapy tinha 122 organizações membros, das quais 94 participaram na votação eletrônica. A maioria simples do número de organizações membros da World Physiotherapy é necessária para aprovar os pedidos de admissão.

 A votação eletrônica foi realizada por meio da plataforma de votação online Election Buddy.
