Get ready for World PT Day 2020


Have you made plans to mark World PT Day on 8 September?

The toolkit is available NOW and includes infographics and posters aimed at the general public promoting the role of physiotherapy in rehabilitation after COVID-19, and infographics focusing on the delivery of physiotherapy via telehealth.

A number of volunteers have kindly translated the materials and you can find versions of the materials on our website in: Arabic, Bangla, Bosnian, 
Bulgarian, Chinese, Estonian, French, German, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Korean, Macedonian, Montenegrin, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Serbian, Slovenian, Spanish, Swahili, Thai, Vietnamese. We are adding translations every day so if you are interested in translating any of the materials, please contact communications@world.physio

As part of the response to COVID-19, many countries have introduced restrictions about holding large events and gatherings. Please consider this when making plans for World PT Day.

Call for abstract submissions is open NOW

 
As a result of moving congress to an online event, the congress programme committee has agreed to re-open the call for abstracts for World Physiotherapy Congress 2021.
The abstract submission system is open now and the deadline for submissions is 24 September 2020. 
People who have previously submitted an abstract are able to access and edit their submission before 24 September 2020.
All abstract submitters will be notified of the outcome of their submission on 14 January 2021.

Immediate impact of COVID-19 on entry level education


World Physiotherapy has published the latest in a series of briefing papers exploring the impact of COVID-19.

The paper examines the effect of the pandemic on meeting pre-COVID-19 regulatory requirements, 2020 entry to the profession, international mobility, and immediate changes in practice and how they have informed entry level education from a regulation perspective.

Annual review highlights growth for global physiotherapy profession

Emma Stokes, World Physiotherapy president, described 2019 as “another  successful year” for the global physiotherapy profession in our recently-published Annual Review.
She said the general meeting and congress were two of the highlights of the year, bringing people together and developing the global profession.
