As respostas ao último censo anual de membros da World Physiotherapy revelam como a força de trabalho global da Fisioterapia está se desenvolvendo e como os Fisioterapeutas estão cada vez mais envolvidos no planejamento e na resposta a emergências de saúde. A World Physiotherapy publica dados de suas organizações membros todos os anos sobre uma série de questões, incluindo regulamentação profissional, prática, educação e força de trabalho. Esses dados fornecem um perfil global abrangente e valioso da profissão. A data do censo anual de membros foi 30 de junho de 2022.  ________________________________________________________________________________ Annual membership census reveals global state of the physiotherapy profession Responses to the latest World Physiotherapy annual membership census reveal how the global physiotherapy workforce is developing and how physiotherapists are increasingly involved in health emergency preparedness planning and response. World Physiotherapy publishes data from its member organisations every year on a range of issues, including professional regulation, practice, education, and the physiotherapy workforce. This data provides a comprehensive and valuable global profile of the profession. At a national level, the AMC data can be used as a powerful advocacy tool to help foster regulatory changes that will improve the profession. In 2022, the annual membership census also included, for the first time, questions about health emergency preparedness and response, and perceptions of the physiotherapy profession. The annual membership census date was 30 June 2022. The most recent data is based on the census completed by 116 of World Physiotherapy’s 125 member organisations in mid-2022. The high response rate, 92.8%, is consistent with previous years’ response rates and demonstrates strong engagement between World Physiotherapy and its member organisations. The data gives a global snapshot of the physiotherapy profession across the world, showing variations in the density of physiotherapists in different countries/territories and between World Physiotherapy regions. Highlights of the 2022 census include: 63% of respondents said membership of their organisation had increased 33% of respondents said there was full direct access in their country/territory, where people could go to a physiotherapist without a referral from another health professional 63% of physiotherapists around the world are women and 42% of member organisations have women presidents 14% of member organisations said their organisation had specific policies or programmes to support women in leadership roles in 83% of countries/territories, physiotherapists can deliver services via telehealth. World Physiotherapy chief executive officer Jonathon Kruger said: “The responses to the surveys from our member organisations are critical to the capacity of World Physiotherapy to provide ongoing support. “It is good to see the increase in direct access because this means people who need physiotherapist services are able to access this directly from a physiotherapist, without having to go through another healthcare professional. “Physiotherapy in emergency settings is a growing area of practice and physiotherapists are integral to meeting rehabilitation needs during emergencies. Responses to the AMC show the important role physiotherapists are increasingly playing in health emergency preparedness planning and response.” The profile maps, which are developed from responses to the annual membership census, allow people to see how the global profession has evolved since 2013. TEXTO ORIGINAL EM INGLÊS   World Physiotherapy welcomes new member organisations World Physiotherapy now represents 600,000 physiotherapists around the world, through its 127 member organisations. Jonathon Kruger, World Physiotherapy chief executive officer, said: “World Physiotherapy is committed to expanding our membership to ensure that physiotherapists around the world benefit from the networking, support, and collaboration platform that we provide to our community.” Membership of World Physiotherapy for National Association of Physiotherapists of Angola, Association of Physiotherapists (Guatemala), Oman Physical Therapy Association, Order of Physiotherapists (Portugal) took effect from 1 January 2023. Victoria Fortunato, National Association of Physiotherapists of Angola president, said: “For Angolan physiotherapists, the acceptance of our association by World Physiotherapy is a great victory, as we will gain experience with professionals from all over the world affiliated with World Physiotherapy, as well as demonstrate a little of what we do in our country in terms of physiotherapy. We are ready to participate and collaborate in any training in the area of ​​physiotherapy.” António Lopes, Order of Physiotherapists president, said: “We are proud to join World Physiotherapy. “This important step is the culmination of the membership transfer from the Portuguese Association of Physiotherapists (APFISIO), representing Portugal since 1963, to the Order of Physiotherapists (Ordem dos Fisioterapeutas), and both organisations are working towards a smooth and consensual transition. “Being part of the great World Physiotherapy global family will certainly keep on boosting physiotherapy’s value as a self-regulated health profession in Portugal. “Finally, we would like to congratulate the other three new member organisations: we can only be stronger together!” At the general meeting held in Geneva in May 2019, the member organisations approved a new constitution, which allows for electronic voting outside a general meeting on resolutions that relate to the approval of an organisation’s application for membership. In 2022 World Physiotherapy had 125 member organisations, of which 78 (62%) took part in the electronic vote. A simple majority of the number of World Physiotherapy member organisations is required to approve applications for admission to membership of World Physiotherapy. The electronic vote was conducted using the online voting platform Election Buddy. In December 2022, the board of the Polish Chamber of Physiotherapists voted to leave World Physiotherapy. This is the first time a member organisation has resigned from World Physiotherapy since it was founded in 1951 and leaves physiotherapists in Poland with no representation, at a global level, for the first time since 1967.  Discriminação é uma ação baseada no preconceito onde o discriminado recebe um tratamento injusto por pertencer a um grupo diferente.

Dois exemplos:

- Anos 70, Ciclo de Estudos sobre Segurança Nacional e Desenvolvimento promovido pela Associação dos Diplomados da Escola Superior de Guerra.

Quatro pessoas conversando descontraidamente desciam do elevador para acesso ao auditório no qual aconteciam as aulas: um Médico de um Hospital do INAMPS, um Deputado Federal Médico,  um Empresário da área médica e um Fisioterapeuta da Clínica de Medicina Física do INAMPS.

Ao alcançarem o hall de entrada, o Médico do Hospital do INAMPS pergunta ao Fisioterapeuta:" Você também é Médico?" a resposta "Não. Sou Fisioterapeuta" fez com que o discípulo de Hipócrates não mais cumprimentasse o Fisioterapeuta até o final do Ciclo de Estudos.

- Anos  90, Primeira Diretoria Regional de Saúde (I DIRES) órgão da Secretaria Estadual de Saúde de Pernambuco, responsável pela Região Metropolitana do Recife.

Um Fisioterapeuta do INAMPS designado pelo Conselho Regional da categoria, pelas Associações Estaduais de Fisioterapeutas e Terapeutas Ocupacionais e respectivo Sindicato para compor o Grupo de Trabalho responsável pela implantação do Sistema Único de Saúde SUS, assume o cargo  para o qual fora indicado e em pouco tempo é escolhido pelos colegas de trabalho para ocupar uma chefia.

Fazia parte desse trabalho reuniões multiprofissionais com os Secretários Municipais. Fui informado numa dessa reuniões que uma Médica da equipe da  I DIRES comentou: " Geraldo é Médico?" , "Por que ele fala como um Médico?".
