WCPT Experts database The WCPT Experts Database is being relaunched as the WCPT Database of Volunteers and Experts (WCPT DOVES). It will be a searchable database of people who have offered to volunteer their services to help develop the physical therapy profession internationally through support for WCPT member organisations and other organisations/institutes with which WCPT collaborates.   Please register if you are willing to support the development of the profession. WHO MENTOR-VIP programme: now accepting applications Developed through the efforts of the World Health Organization (WHO) and a network of global injury prevention experts, MENTOR-VIP is a global injury and violence prevention mentoring programme. Mentoring allows for skills development through exchange of experience between a more skilled or experienced person and a person seeking to develop those skills. WCPT Congress 2019 Record breaking submissions: a total of 103 focused symposium submissions have been received. This is a hugely exciting start on the first step to the Congress in Geneva. #EndFGM 6th February was International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM). To promote the abandonment of FGM, coordinated and systematic efforts are needed, and they must engage whole communities and focus on human rights and gender equality. These efforts should emphasise societal dialogue and the empowerment of communities to act collectively to end the practice. They must also address the sexual and reproductive health needs of women and girls who suffer from its consequences. Physiopedia adds four new shoulder courses  WCPT Partner, Physiopedia, has recently added four new shoulder courses to PP+. “Introduction to the shoulder”, "Shoulder Assessment", "Clinical Presentations of Shoulder Pain"  and "Therapeutic Interventions for the Shoulder". The 7th International Conference of Physiotherapy in Psychiatry and Mental Health Registration is now open for the 7th International Conference of Physiotherapy in Psychiatry and Mental Health, taking place in Reykjavik, Iceland, from 10th - 12th April 2018. Beneficiários do INSS têm até o dia 28 de fevereiro de 2018 para realizar a comprovação de vida

Informação de interesse público

Segundo informa a Secretaria de Previdência do Ministério da Fazenda:

Dos mais de 34 milhões de beneficiários do INSS, quase 30 milhões já realizaram a comprovação de vida. Até janeiro de 2018, 4,7 milhões de beneficiários ainda não compareceram aos bancos pagadores de seu benefício para realizar o procedimento.

 A prova de vida é obrigatória para todos os beneficiários do INSS que recebem por conta corrente, conta poupança ou cartão magnético. Quem não fizer a comprovação de vida no tempo previsto poderá ter seu pagamento interrompido.

O prazo para o comparecimento das pessoas que ainda não fizeram a prova de vida em 2017 terminaria em 31 de dezembro de 2017, mas por causa do grande número de beneficiários que ainda não realizou o procedimento o prazo foi estendido até 28 de fevereiro de 2018. Não é necessário ir à Agência da Previdência Social. A comprovação de vida é realizada diretamente no banco em que o segurado recebe o benefício mediante a apresentação de um documento de identificação com foto (carteira de identidade, carteira de trabalho, carteira nacional de habilitação e outros).

Regulamentação profissional de saúde - enfrentando desafios para atuar no interesse público

A regulamentação profissional da saúde enfrenta muitos desafios em um mundo caracterizado por mudanças políticas, sociais, econômicas e tecnológicas. A reforma da regulamentação profissional da saúde reflete as iniciativas políticas de muitos governos para garantir uma prestação de serviços de saúde sustentável, eficiente e efetiva. Mas quais são as implicações e como podemos garantir que os melhores interesses do público sejam atendidos?

Programada para ocorrer imediatamente após a Assembleia Mundial da Saúde da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) de 19 a 20 de maio de 2018 em Genebra, a quinta Conferência Mundial de Regulamentação das Profissões da Saúde fornecerá aos participantes informações, perspectivas e discussões sobre os desafios atuais na regulamentação profissional.

Os principais expositores deverão explorar as lições aprendidas de abordagens baseadas em competências para regulamentação, comparar modelos regulatórios e examinar formas de promover as melhores práticas em governança e desempenho regulatório.

- História da Fisioterapia

Na semana passada ocorreu na Grã Bretanha o primeiro encontro de executivos da nova Associação Internacional de História de Fisioterapia (IPHA), um dos itens da agenda foi uma proposta para montar um Simpósio Focado sobre História da Fisioterapia para o Congresso Internacional WCPT2019  no próximo ano em Genebra.

Comemora-se em 2018, 100 anos desde a assinatura da Representação da Lei de Pessoas , que concedeu para algumas mulheres britânicas (e mais homens) o direito de voto. 

Todas as fundadoras da Sociedade de massagistas treinados (STM), que precederam as atuais Fisioterapeutas, eram mulheres independentes, com laços com o movimento sufragista.

- Mutilação Genital Feminina

A  Confederação Mundial de Fisioterapia WCPT opõe-se a todas as formas de Mutilação Genital Feminina MGF e insta todas as organizações membros a aderirem aos esforços nacionais e internacionais para se oporem e eliminarem esta prática. 

Para a Organização, em sua Declaração de Política: "a MGF é uma violação fundamental dos direitos das meninas e das mulheres, incluindo o direito à vida, o direito à integridade física e o direito à saúde. Na ausência de qualquer necessidade médica, a FGM submete meninas e mulheres a riscos de saúde e tem consequências fatais. Além disso, ela viola a Convenção das Nações Unidas sobre os Direitos da Criança e viola o princípio ético fundamental de 'não prejudicar'."

- Duque e Duquesa de Cambridge na Universidade de Coventry

 Fisioterapeutas e  alunos da Universidade de Coventry discutiram sua profissão com o Duque e a Duquesa de Cambridge, quando o casal real inaugurou um novo edifício de ciência e saúde no campus.

O novo edifício é o único do seu tipo no Reino Unido, onde estudantes de Fisioterapia podem aprender a tratar os pacientes em todas as fases da recuperação.

WCPT/HI SUDA project This successful two year project comes to an end on 31 January. Set up as collaboration between WCPT and Handicap International (HI), with funding by USAID, the project focused on strengthening physical therapy as a profession in Mali, Niger and Senegal. The SUDA Project was set up as a response to professionalise and strengthen physical therapy services in these conflict-affected countries for a large population of persons with disabilities. The quality of physical therapist entry level education was addressed, along with strengthening the physical therapy national associations there and securing adequate wheelchair training and provision. Call for WCPT Education Policy and Guidelines Expert Working Group (EPG-EWG) WCPT is issuing an open call for physical therapists to be a part of  the EPG-EWG. The group will support and guide a project to review the WCPT policy statement on education and the suite of associated guidelines. WCPT Congress 2019 The Congress Programme Committee (CPC) met face-to-face in London for two days last week to start designing an exciting, relevant and engaging programme for #WCPT2019 in Geneva next year. Joining the CPC were WCPT President, Emma Stokes, WCPT Deputy CEO, Tracy Bury, along with members of WCPT staff and representatives of physioswiss. Handicap International becomes Humanity & Inclusion On 24th January Humanity & Inclusion became the new name of Handicap International's global network. The organisation, which shared the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997 for its work to ban anti-personnel landmines, implements more than 300 projects in about 60 countries. Convocatória para Simpósio Focado

A Confederação Mundial de Fisioterapia WCPT informa que abriu inscrições para Simpósios Focados com data de fechamento em 23 de fevereiro de 2018. Trata-se de uma oportunidade para participar de uma das sessões-chave do congresso mundial da entidade programado para maio de 2019 em Genebra, que inclui participantes de alto nível atraindo grande público  para as discussões.

 
Com duração de 90 minutos, cada simpósio é organizado por um especialista reconhecido no campo que lidera, numa sessão com 3 a 4 oradores trabalhando em conjunto e de forma reflexiva para explorar as últimas práticas, pesquisas, educação e questões profissionais.A chamada está aberta a qualquer assunto relevante para a profissão. No entanto, o Comitê do Programa do Congresso (CPC) está particularmente interessado em propostas que abordem qualquer uma das seguintes áreas identificadas através da pesquisa de mercado da  WCPT:

   -  avançar e definir o escopo da prática da Fisioterapia, incluindo avanços em tecnologia e educação;

    -  como a Fisioterapia precisa mudar para atender às demandas do envelhecimento da população;

    -  a contribuição única dos Fisioterapeutas na agenda da atividade física;

   - percepções desafiadoras do gerenciamento da dor ao longo da vida e em todos os campos de atuação;

    - abordagens inovadoras para o problemas de financiamento dos sistemas de saúde. 

As apresentações devem abordar o tema a partir de uma perspectiva internacional/diversificada, incluindo apresentações de vários países e, de preferência, de três regiões diferentes conforme organização espacial da WCPT: África, Ásia Pacífico Ocidental, Europa, América do Norte e Caribe, e América do Sul. Quando aplicável ao tema, será dada prioridade a simpósios que incluam perspectivas de países de baixos recursos.Todas inscrições serão notificadas do resultado até 27 de abril de 2018.
