November 2021 Watch a recording of the Physiotherapist education framework webinar A recent World Physiotherapy webinar explored the strategic and practical implementation of the Physiotherapist education framework for educators and the profession more broadly. Transcripts of the webinar are available in: English French Spanish Watch the recording of the webinar WHO call for public health innovation solutions in Western Pacific region The WHO regional office for the Western Pacific is looking for public health innovation solutions applicable to, or targeting the Western Pacific region, for the first WHO Western Pacific Innovation Challenge: Innovation for the Futures of Public Health.   30 finalists will be invited to present their solutions to the WHO Western Pacific region member states and other stakeholders at the WHO Western Pacific Innovation Forum in early 2022. Find out more about the AWP regional congress Australia sets up programme for Afghan physiotherapists In response to the crisis in Afghanistan, the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Australian Physiotherapy Council are partnering with Talent Beyond Boundaries to launch Physios for Refugees. Physios for Refugees aims to facilitate local jobs for Afghan physiotherapists who are in urgent need of a pathway to safety. Having a job offer in Australia, and an employer willing to sponsor them, will enable Afghan and other refugee physiotherapists and their families to travel to Australia on skilled visas (a much faster and more certain route than waiting for a place through the oversubscribed humanitarian programme). Find out more about Physios for Refugees Study explores physiotherapists' experience of advancing rehabilitation in low resource and conflict settings  A recently-published study aims to understand physiotherapists’ views and perspectives of current rehabilitation services, of how these services can be strengthened over the next 10 years and of the role of physiotherapy.   The Focus Group Study to Understand the Perspectives of Physiotherapists on Barriers and Facilitators to Advancing Rehabilitation in Low-Resource and Conflict Settings, published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Heath, includes focus group discussions with 31 physiotherapists from 18 low resource and conflict contexts. University of British Columbia launches RExI toolkit The University of British Columbia has launched a toolkit as part of its Resisted exercise initiative (RExI). The RExI was launched in April 2019 to support best practice in the use of resisted exercise by physiotherapists for older people in hospitals in British Columbia. The objectives of the RExI project are to: determine existing practice identify opportunities to support enhanced practice undertake knowledge translation (KT) strategies to target barriers to enhancing use of resisted exercise evaluate effect of introduction of the KT strategies. The event is intended to be an opportunity for experts, professionals, and stakeholders to gather and meet together. It will reflect on the past, present, and the future of Cochrane Rehabilitation - sharing knowledge, curiosity, and experiences to generate insights and suggestions to define the organisation's next five years.
