NEW briefing paper published: digital practice during COVID-19

The latest World Physiotherapy COVID-19 briefing paper highlights the consequences of COVID-19 on physiotherapy digital practice services.

The paper includes reflections on changes in practice and potential implications for the future reported by World Physiotherapy member organisations and individual physiotherapists.

Thirty-four member organisations from all of World Physiotherapy’s five regions, three subgroups and 148 individual physiotherapists participated in a survey on the experiences of digital practice arising from the consequences of COVID-19 in 2020.

The briefing paper includes case studies from physiotherapists in Australia, Jamaica, Nepal, New Zealand, Uganda, UK, US, and Uruguay. The studies show the innovation and variability in changes to service delivery and act as examples for others.

COVID-19 report now available in Spanish

Our report on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on physiotherapy services globally is now available in Spanish.

This World Physiotherapy report was published in English earlier this year and reported back on the online survey sent to member organisations in 2020. The survey included questions about how the COVID-19 pandemic had impacted physiotherapy practice and the governance of World Physiotherapy’s member organisations.

The report is also being translated into Portuguese and will be available shortly.
