Celebrate World Physical Therapy Day 2017! |
World
Physical Therapy Day 2017 is now just over one week away. If you
haven't yet planned your activities, here are some last minute ideas.

New publication on dementia |
|
With
dementia one of the greatest global challenges for health and social
care in the 21st century, The Lancet has published a Commission: Dementia prevention, intervention, and care.
An infographic and podcast have also been published alongside the
Commission. It aims to review the best available evidence and produce
recommendations on how to best manage, or even prevent, the dementia
epidemic.

New neck pain online course |
WCPT
partner, Physiopedia, is offering a new online course on neck pain. The
course aims to provide a foundation of theoretical knowledge related to
management of cervical spine pain that will enable physical therapists
to effectively assess and treat individuals with neck pain. Find out

The course is available to all Physiopedia Plus members. Members of
certain organisations get free access to Physiopedia Plus as a benefit -
if you are a member of your professional organisation in Canada, South
Africa, Barbados, Jamaica, St Lucia, Romania, Malta, Nepal or Zimbabwe
please contact your national association to find out how you can get

WCPT has been made aware of several scam email invitations targeting physical therapists and WCPT member organisations.
The email may be worded as follows:
INVITATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN MENTORING AND TRAINING FOR PHYSIOTHERAPISTS
The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), an arm of the
United Nations in collaboration with the World Bank is organizing a
3-Day Mentoring and Training for Physiotherapists in 50 countries of the
world. This training is fully sponsored by MIGA and the World Bank.
These then request payment to support the training offered in return for
a stipend payment. Member organisations and physical therapists are
advised to ignore these or if in doubt contact WCPT info@wcpt.org.

The 7th International Conference of Physiotherapy in Psychiatry and Mental Health |
Registration
and the call for abstracts is now open for the 7th International
Conference of Physiotherapy in Psychiatry and Mental Health, taking
place in Reykjavik, Iceland, from 10th - 12th April 2018.
The conference aims to increase the knowledge of mental health issues
and the connection between mental and physical health among physical
therapists around the world.
